Let's peruse some news and notes from yesterday:

Gagne, Riske, Walker, Weathers Clear Waivers

Even with the Mets recent acquisition of reliever Al Reyes Joel Sherman of the New York Post writes that the Mets are still looking for bullpen help.  Within Sherman's article, he mentions that Eric Gagne, David Riske, Jaime Walker, and David Weathers have all cleared wiavers, but the Mets are only really interested in Weathers.  Sherman notes, however the Weathers is a Type-B free agent, so if the Cincinnati Reds held on to Weathers and lost him via free agency, they would recieve a sandwich round pick and the Mets would be expected to match that kind of compensation if a trade were arranged.
