Scouting Report: Alvord is an athletically built 6-0, 180 lb middle infielder with very good compact strength for a middle infielder. Alvord's arm strength and athletic ability play all over the field, although he probably has the most experience playing second base. Alvord's best tool is his bat and offensive potential as a middle of the field player. He is a dead red fastball hitter with very good bat speed and the ability to turn around top velocity pitchers. He has some pull lift in his swing and can hit the ball a long way. He has a verbal commitment to attend Auburn University and could create early round draft interest.
