Drafted: 2nd round pick of the 2010 draft by the Chicago Cubs
Scouting Report: Golden is an exceptionally strong and compact 5-11, 205 lb outfielder from Alabama, where he has often been compared to fellow Alabama native Bo Jackson for his physique and athletic ability. Golden is surprisingly quick for such a strong young athlete. He's a 6.5 runner who is consistently 4.15 to first base despite a full aggressive swing. Golden has excellent raw bat speed and the ball explodes off his bat. He has pure centerfield actions on defense and runs very good routes for a young outfielder. Golden's arm strength is solidly in the MLB plus range and he also throws up to 92 mph off the mound. He has made a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama but has early draft pick potential.
