Bio
School: Ohio State
Drafted: 21st overall pick in 2010 by the Minnesota Twins
Scouting Report: A hard-throwing righthander whose fastball ranged from 90-93 mph all summer, Wimmers has solidified himself as one of baseball's most promising arms. He flashs an excellent curveball with hard, late break that he can typically throw for a strike any time in the count. His circle changeup is still a work in progress and is clearly his third-best pitch at this point. Wimmers has good size (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) and a fluid delivery to go along with his power repertoire, causing some scouts to project him as a closer down the line.

Wimmers went to the same high school, cincinnati moeller, as the great ken griffey jr and barry larkin. he broke griffey's hitting records while he was there.

This kid was awesome in the Cape League last summer (Bourne Braves). Once he came in to pitch a critical game after being deathly ill with a gastrointestinal bug. Pitched on heart, fumes, and guts, and saved the day. Amazing performance, and I didn't think he should be out of bed. Bourne won the championship; the only reason Alex wasn't an All-Star was that he came in late and didn't have enough starts of record. He's the real deal, and we see enough of 'em come through here to know.

Keith, I think your right on with the pitching for 2010 draft. Wimmers of Ohio State with a good coming season I think will press Ranaudo and others for a top pick. He is well poised and smart. If you do an interview with him, please note me. I'd like to hear his thoughts on his competitiveness on the mound. Why he likes pitching over any other position. He was a great hitter in high school. Thanks. Your sight is awesome.
