Kansas City Declines Option On Royals

Satirical online newspaper, The Onion, is reporting that the city of Kansas City has declined its 2010 option on the Royals baseball club.  Citing financial concerns that would kick in if the option were accepted, Kansas City decided to not relive the mistake of the 18-year extension that was handed to the Royals in 1991. 

Portland, OR and Copenhagen were rumored to be interested in the Royals baseball club. 

The Royals baseball club will hope to catch on in another city after their 41-year relationship with Kansas City ended
